Overview

The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti was the first consumer card with tensor cores that a wide audience actually bought, and it still turns up on rental marketplaces because 11 GB and 616 GB/s remain workable for small-model inference at a low hourly rate. It is a 68-SM TU102, two SMs short of the full die that TITAN RTX and Quadro RTX 6000 use. One thing to watch when comparing it against those parts: GeForce Turing halves FP16 tensor throughput when you accumulate in FP32, so this card does 56.9 TFLOPS in the numerically safer mode against 113.8 in the FP16-accumulate mode, where the workstation parts do their full rate in both. Turing has no BF16, no TF32, no FP8 and no structured sparsity, so every figure here is already dense and needs no halving before you compare it with a modern accelerator.
