This is the only Radeon PRO W-series card for which AMD publishes an FP64 figure, and at 1.11 TFLOPS it is one sixteenth of FP32, the standard RDNA 2 rate. RDNA 2 has no matrix cores, so the 35.7 TFLOPS FP16 is packed vector math, not a matrix rate, and AMD publishes no INT8, INT4, BF16 or FP8 number. AMD's own footer disclaimer GD-239 states that Radeon PRO W6000 and W7000 series cards are not designed nor recommended for datacenter usage. The card is nevertheless a supported ROCm target (gfx1030), which is unusual for a card this old.

Overview

The Radeon PRO W6800 is AMD's RDNA 2 workstation flagship: the 60 compute unit Navi 21 die, the same silicon as the Radeon RX 6800, but clocked higher, fitted with 32 GB of ECC GDDR6 and rated at 250 W with a full 128 MB of Infinity Cache. Two things make it interesting beyond CAD work. First, it is the only card in the entire Radeon PRO W line for which AMD publishes a double precision figure, 1.11 TFLOPS, one sixteenth of its 17.8 TFLOPS FP32. Second, 32 GB of ECC memory in a 250 W dual-slot card remains a rare combination on the used market. What it does not have is matrix hardware: RDNA 2 carries none, so the quoted 35.7 TFLOPS FP16 is packed vector throughput and there is no BF16, FP8, INT8 or INT4 rate to compare against a tensor-core part.
