Overview

The Arc B580 is Intel's Battlemage flagship for the desktop, announced on 3 December 2024 at $249 with 12 GB of GDDR6 on a 192-bit bus. It uses the complete BMG-G21 die: five render slices, 20 Xe-cores, 160 XMX matrix engines, 20 ray tracing units and 18 MB of L2 cache on TSMC N5. Intel rates it at 233 dense INT8 TOPS. The interesting number for anyone doing local inference is not the TOPS but the pairing of 12 GB with 456 GB/s at this price, which is more frame buffer and more bandwidth than the cards it was aimed at. Intel's claimed generational gain is 70 per cent more performance per Xe-core and 50 per cent more per watt than Alchemist. Intel publishes no FP32, FP16, BF16 or FP64 rate for it, so this row carries INT8 only and nothing has been derived.
