AMD's own page prints a transistor count of 54 billion for this card where the RX 7900 XTX page prints 58 billion and the Radeon PRO W7900 page prints 57.7 billion for the same Navi 31 family. The GRE ships with one fewer memory chiplet than the XTX, which is the likely reason, and the figure stored here is AMD's own for this SKU rather than the family figure. AMD also publishes an Effective Memory Bandwidth of up to 2250 GB/s for this card; that is a blended cache-hit figure, not an interface rate, so it is recorded here in prose rather than in a bandwidth column.

Overview

The Radeon RX 7900 GRE started as a China-only Great Radeon Edition in July 2023 and later went global. It is a Navi 31 card with 80 compute units and 160 AI accelerators, running at up to 2245 MHz for 46 TFLOPS of FP32 vector and 92 TFLOPS of FP16 matrix. Memory is 16 GB of GDDR6 on a 256-bit bus at 576 GB/s, backed by 64 MB of Infinity Cache, inside a 260 W board. Like every RDNA 3 part it has no FP8 hardware and no structured sparsity, so its matrix rate is only double its vector rate rather than the four times an RDNA 4 card manages, and AMD publishes no FP64 or BF16 figure for it.

Every figure here is dense. The vendor documents no structured (2:4) sparsity mode for this part, so there is no second number to quote.
