The Ryzen AI Max+ 395, the flagship of the Strix Halo family, is the reason a mini PC can now be a serious local inference machine. Its integrated Radeon 8060S puts 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units behind a 256-bit LPDDR5X memory controller, which is the part that matters: 256 GB/s of bandwidth and up to 128 GB of unified memory, of which AMD will let you address 96 GB as video memory. No consumer discrete card comes close on capacity, and capacity is what decides whether a model runs at all. The trade is bandwidth, since 256 GB/s is roughly a fifth of what a 16 GB discrete card manages and a third of an M5 Max, so large models fit comfortably and generate tokens slowly. Sixteen Zen 5 cores and a 50 TOPS XDNA 2 neural processor sit alongside it in a 55 W default envelope configurable to 120 W. Note that AMD publishes no graphics throughput figure for this part at all, so the FP32 number here is computed rather than quoted, and the 126 TOPS you will see advertised is a whole-chip total that mostly is not the GPU.
